High internal energy!
According to the Legend of the condor heroes, there used to be bed called the 寒玉床 (cold jade bed) which belonged to the acient tomb sect. To many martial artist, this cold jade bed was well sought as anyone who sleeps on the bed would experience its cold energy. Hence, after a few years on this bed, their internal energy would increase tremendously.

Nonetheless, there was a fight long ago by a dragon girl and her evil senior that led the acient tomb to seal itself, leaving the Cold jade bed buried deep within.

At this rate when everyday is twice as cold as the day before, i think its a matter of time before the coldness forces out my internal energy. IT wouldnt be long before my 轻功 will be very good and you can see me hoping from tree to tree!

(Point to ponder: If yesterday is 0 degree, and today is twice as cold. What is today's temperature?)

I think if any thermodynamics teacher sees this, they will vomit blood to see such reasoning. But then, i'm not taking thermodynamics this sem! So had to wait till next year! thermodie.....

drinking culture
Wilsern and I were discussing of the trend that we observed regarding drinking culture yesterday.
ITs like people work during the weekday. Upon friday night, they will drink alot, get drunk, sleep till 3pm on saturday, get hangover. Then on sat night, they will drink alot, get drunk, sleep till 3pm sunday night, get hangover.
Doesnt that make our weekends so constructive?
Well there is nothing much to do during weekend afterall. All the shops closes early, people tend to stay at home.

Is that what singapore is trying to promote? Our nightlife?
COme to think of it, it does churn out business opportunities and drive the economy in a way.

Just a theory:

If there isnt night life, everyone will be staying at home at night and do constructive stuff during the day.

Whereas with the help of nightlife. People can open up clubs/pubs and sell liquor at night. SO there will be business running at night which is good for the economy. Moreover, with the highly tax liquor, isnt it better for the country if more liquor were purphase?
With people getting drunk it clubs, more job opportunities will be there for bouncer, security guard to be there to ensure order. Hospitals and police might get their share of responsiblities if there are fights going on.
Not only that, with the increase in consumption of alcohol there would be serveral implications.
The health promotion board will have more responsibilties to promote healthy lifestyle. Hence increasing in its job and in turn manpower.
People who drink too often will develop complications such as various illness. This will cause the need of more medical centers and that will mean more doctors and nurses.
Accidents on the roads will imply more traffic police, conorer, paramedics, roadsweepers , repair man etc...
With so many people puking all over, we will have more cleaners plumbers (of the sink get choke cos of that)

Indeed, having a drinking culture will lead to the increase of job opportunities and will cause the economy to prosper.

Therefore, drinking culture can be good for the economy.

But in terms of personal benefits. I see no point of me seeking pleasure by means of consuming depressant. Its just senseless. But everybody likes the feeling of intoxication. Just like all depressant drugs, it gives you the sensation as it numbs part of your brain. The irony is that we are only using a small percentage of our brain's capabilities. Is our life so miserable that we require such depressant to make us feel better?
For me at this point, i have been drinking for the sake of drinking. Most of the time was just 意事意事...
Anyone can tell me why some people just like drinking so much? Perhaps its just a peer pressure thing, you want to see your friend drunk and your friend want to see you drunk. So all drink together? Does this same reason goes for taking drugs and smoking? hmm...

Another Wa lau test!
There is a pattern to everything. Once you figure out the pattern, it will be very easy for you to do anything.
People are as such. And so are test and exams!

Nonetheless, the only module i just couldnt find its pattern is Chemical REaction Engineering. Because of that, i really dont know how i shld go about studying it.

The test just now made me so uneasy. For a start, when we say "open book"test, i always thought that only the text books are allowed. It was only when i sat down during the test when i realised that we can bring ANYTHING!

K and so, i started my test with only the textbook at 7pm.
At 750pm, the guy in front of me left, for me i completed the test at 8pm.
Everybody else is still writing.
"There must be something i missed out,"I told myself.
Crutinising every single word that i might miss out.But i just couldnt find any.
Stayed until 830pm before i left early.

While walking down, I glanced through the papers of others and saw some of them drawing graphs and pictures and charts!

Grr..
From all my test/assignments i have done so far. I came to realise something typical abt the people here. They write ALOT.
Yah just because their language is supposedly better they tend to write alot of details.
Yup, this must be the case. The paper shld be completeable in 1 hr, but they likke to take their own sweet time to write alot that they need 2 hrs..
It must be (or i really miss out something! haha)

Anyway, for my psch 291 assignment (which is graded for finals) i scored 105%.
Yah, due to the bonus question which i typically smoked my way through.
HRM project 100%
1st Cog psych quiz 90% (yah! the one i went toronto during the weekends and study for it during the mornig)
Lets keep our fingers cross for the odds to stay this way!

Hands in pocket day!
Starting from today! everyday is hands in pocket day! Yeah!

The weather is soo cold that everyone just have to walk around with their hands in the pocket.
For the first time, i wore my winter boots to add to my anticold armour but it wasnt enough.
Met Mang and stanley during two different parts of the day (Not so hard when today is from 830 am to 9pm) and the first few things they said was,"is that all you are wearing today?"
Apparently, i am suppose to be wearing my winter jacket today.
Guess i have survive today without my winter jacket.
Tml will be another long day. oh yah! and 2 more midterms! haha!

What a test!
Normally pior any test. I will make sure i am at my optimum level in terms of mentally and pysically. And that includes eliminating possible distractions by going to the toilet beforehand, dont eat too much etc. I dont have much appitite to eat pior the test anyway, the anxiety sets in by the excitement.

Nonetheless, since over here i'm taking all my tests in a slack slack manner. I dont really feel the anxiety, and without anxiety i cant feel the stress, without stress in turn i will dont feel like studying. (*note* this is a correlation statement, there might be no causation due to the unclear of temporal precedence)
SO anyway, without the anxiety, i will not look into the optimum routine.
In particular for this test which STARTS AT 7PM!! I went to eat my dinner at 6pm plus.

IT was at 7pm sharp when my stomach started making funny sounds that i noticed something was not right. In the next few minutes, the stomachache was terrible. As i always mention, alot of things i do over here ends up in a dilemma (which i dislike), hence i had to make a decision to go to the toilet at that moment, or to rush through the paper and go afterwards when i'm done. I chose the latter. Ended up me kept on changing my sitting possible here and there to ease the ache.
So its like while i'm frantically pressing my calculator and doing the problems, my mind was thinking "what if i really cannot hold on and ended up releasing over here? i'm sure its a diahorrea cos normal meals wouldnt make any one stomachache so fast"
You can imagine 30 % of my mind was thinking about the calculation 30% thinking how to press, 40% was abt the stomachache that could just ease itself any moment.

Well, i'm just fortunate that the stomachach didnt get any worst and could hang on to it for 2 hrs! To think Viviana and kitty started to discuss with me the questions when i had to rush down to the toilet.

Getting colder and colder
ITS 2 DEGREE OUTSIDE NOW!
The cold weather makes everyone lethargic.
On the contrary to some law of thermodynamics which i totally forgotten, efficiency for an engine is high when the cold sink is very cold and the heat source is very hot. (Or something liddat?)
Well, i must say i am not in my most efficient state.
ITs like the cold weather just suck every single enthusiasm and excitment i can have over here. You dont feel like doing anything, and will sink deeper and deeper.

I dont think i'm cut out for cold climates. ITs so not my style to be cool. Those who know me well enough will know that i'm afraid of the cold. When you are warm you can wear thinner clothes or to go for a bath. But when you are cold, you just have to keep on wearing clothes and more clothes, until you are wrapped up nicely like how we wrap our potatoes with aluminium foil during a bbq, just that there isnt any heat. And So thick that you cant tell whether if it is a potato or not. Things get disasterous if there isnt any heater around to warm the place.

Weather prediction will be a max of 6 degree and a min of -1 degree.
To make things worst, i'll be having my test at 7pm.
The only consolation is that its predicted to be sunny tml.

How i miss the sun and warmth. I really wanted to go down to pasir ris beach to find boo and serene to paddle along side of the beach. Nevermind the place is not safe or infested with crocodiles. I rather take the risk. Alternatively, mac rithie will be fine as well, hopefully peter will not be so grumpy with his situation over there.

Probably this is how all exchange works. When i come back Singapore, i will highly likely to be complaining the heat and wanting to enjoy the cool breeze over here. Life irony. That is why we should always tresure every moment we have, you will never know when it will be taken away from you.

Yup! this is what im going to do, i'm going to enjoy the cold weather tml! hopefully it doesnt freeze me to death before i get the chance to even say hello.

haha!

830 class tml!
SLEEP!

4 of a kind!
Today is the first time all four of us are together in the residence the entire day!
Most of the time one of us will be out at anyone time and the only time all of us are in the residence is at night.

Well, anyone could have guessed that the only possible explanation for such phenomenon is cos of the mid terms we will be having next week!

Wait! who says anything abt studying? Yup the reason of us staying back residence is because we need to prepare for mid terms, but you know how things go.

During the course of the day, mang started to stand on the chair and make funny noises akth (also known to him) as singing. Stanley was like walking up and down and up and down the residence. For me, as always, was easily distracted due to the nature of my situation.
Considering this is an exchange, i think i did my fair share of studying i must say.
Tae soo has been in his room the whole day as well, with no obvious sign of distraction. Can't tell what he is doing. But my guess is that of no diff from me.

Prosopagnosia
Prosopagnosia: An inability or difficulty in recognizing familiar faces; it may be congenital or result from injury or disease of the brain.

After spending close to two months in Canada, I learnt that I might be suffering for Prosopagnosia specifically catered on angmos! I seriously cant differeniate one ang mo from another not to say recognising them.

Its like they are angmos and they just look the same to me.

Nonetheless, people who are suffering from prosopagnosia can still recognise people using their voices, hair, gait and shape.

Hence, the few angmo's i managed to recognise are as follows:

1) this ultra big size girl who normally sits at my row during chem reaction class.
2) A super irritating guy who is even worst in english than me who keeps on asking questions in equalibrium class.
3) A strange looking girl who always asked out of point questions during cog psych class
4) Amanda, who is doing part time in our community center. she has a distinct curly hair which she normally tie up. She just so happens to be taking research method with me as well!
(haha! i promised her that i will not post on facebook! but i didnt say anything abt on blog! heh heh)

hmm.. at this rate i dont think i can find any shuai angmo guys to bring back for sinyee. That was her only request yet i dont think i can accomplish it. To think i was getting ambitious to promise jiandong that i'll bring some angmo girls back. They will be awfully disappointed... oh well.. I'm sure they will understand that good things doesnt come so easy.

The intimate Confession of Cinderella
Cinderella dashed down the stairs as the chime from the clock tower rang upon the stroke of midnight. She tripped and fell leaving her glass slippers behind. That was when her prince cried out to her to stop.

At that moment she had to make a choice, she can make the choice.

She can stop and turn around to face her prince, only to reveal her true form as a normal girl. Isn't that what she truely is?

Instead, she choose to run away, not even dare to turn her head back to look at her prince once more time.
Without magic, cinderella cannot accept who she truly was.
Without magic, cinderella doesnt have the courage to face her love.
She ran away.

Everyone in this world at some point fantasized about having magic or powers, with them they can do anything.

But you dont need magic to make love happen.
For if there really is love, there will already be magic within. The magic that can give you the power to do anything.

Thanks Giving
Canadian Thanksgiving is a quieter, more family-centred holiday. It's celebrated on the second Monday in October, which is Oct. 13th this year.

It is a public holiday, so schools, banks, libraries, and many stores will be closed that day, including the university. Thanksgiving is an annual tradition of giving thanks for the harvest, where families and friends sit down to a big meal that often consists of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, squash, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. (Americans celebrate their Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday in November with the same foods. They, too, give thanks for the harvest, but also remember>the early settlers, the Pilgrims, and the meals shared with the>native people living in the land.)

Cinderella
Long long time ago, there lived a girl named Rella. As her father just died and her mother died even earier, she lived with her step mother and 2 step sisters. IT was commonly believed that the step mother married in because of the father's wealth and ramours had it that the father died of no natural cause. However, this will be another story for another time.

As Rella was not blood related, she was enslaved by her step relatives, forcing her to do the housework. Being helpless and ignorant, she was unable todo anything to escape from her pathetic fate. Before she realised it, she was renames Cinderella as her face was as dirty as the cinder due to her work.

One day, the prince of the country wanted a bride and invited all the woman of the country to attend a party in his castle. Cinderella thought it was her chance to gain freedom from her step mother, whereas the step mother and sister knew it was the chance for them to gain more riches and power. All of them wanted to go for the ball.
Cinderella knew that her step mother would not allow her to attend the ball, hence she secretly made preparation. She found her mother's beautiful gown and accossories. Despite her efforts, one of the sister found the gown and tore it into shreds, denying her the proper attire to get into the ball. Upon learning Cinderella's intention to go to the ball, her step mother locked her in and left for the ball with her step sisters.

Cinderella accept fate but doesnt accept losing. She tried to escape but in vain. That was when her fairy godmother suddenly appeared (of all times) and turned the pumpkin into a carridge, the mice into horses and horseman; and turned her tattered dress into a nice gown! She even gave cinderella glass slippers for no hidden cost!. Nonetheless, she warned Cinderella that her spell will only last till the stoke of midnight.

Hurriedly, Cinderella went to the ball and instantly captured the attention of the Prince (talking abt cocktail party effects). As she was beautifully dressed up, her step mother and sisters could even recognise her and thought she was some princess from a neighbouring country. Soon, the prince was mesmerised by Cinderella and made the approached to dance with her. Just within a few mins, the prince was certain to make Cinderella his queen. Unfortunately, the clock strike midnight and she started to transform back to her orginal state. Just as she ran down the stairs, she fell down and dropped her glass slipper. Picking herself up immediately, she ran back home in lightning fast speed within 12 seconds (12 strikes from the clock) that no one witness her transformation and didnt suspect a thing.

The prince found the glass slipper that strangely didnt disappear upon the midnight. Apparently, the prince have never been shopping for shoes before thus didnt know that there is a limited range for shoe sizes from size 5 to maybe 11? Thinking that everybody's shoe size is unique, he declared that if anyone who can wear that shoe will become his queen.

When the prince reached cinderella's place, her first sister went into her room and try the glass slipper. But it was too small for her and her mother , desperate to gain riches, instructed her to cut off her heels. She did and was able to fit into the shoe but the bleeding of her heels were too obvious that the prince could took notice. Therefore, the second sister tried and it was too big for her as well. This time, her mother told her to chop off her toes so that she could wear the slippers and no obvious blood. The prince couldnt recognise that the sister wasnt the girl he met in the ball, took her as queen and brought her back into the castle via carridge.

Fortunately, upon the journey back, he noticed that the blood from her toes start flowing out and he knew that she had chop her toes off to fit the shoe. So he brought her back home. It was the case that the prince had already combed the entire country and just so happen that cinderella's shoe size is soooo unique that no one was able to fit it nicely. IT might be the case that the glass slipper is tailor made to 0.00005 of error!

"ARe u sure there isnt anyone from ur home?"He asked.
At that time, Cinderella managed to break free from her room with the help of her mice friends.
"I believe i have yet to try!" She walked out of her room towards the prince.
While the prince attendance was handling the glass slipper to cinderella, the step mother trip him over and the glass slipper broke. Polly it had already reach its breaking point when it was worn while running down the stairs and it fell of once.
"oh, dont worry,"cinderella said calmly, reaching out her pocket to reveal another glass slipper,"I have the other one."
And the glass slipper fit her nicely...

The prince took cinderella as his queen and they live together.

With a prince who
1) Hopped to girls who looks pretty
2) Determined her as his wife without even knowing her name and background
3) Didnt know that there are just a few sizes for a shoe
4)cannot recognise cinderella and took in anyone who can wear the shoe
5) Didnt suspect that shoe of the same design can exist in different sizes

Do you think it will be happily ever after?

---------------

haha!
I guess i deviate my orignal moral of the story. But indeed this story has so many loop holes to start off with.

Wonderland tml! need to wake up at 7am! now is already 1... Sleep..

Waste of time
I always feel that watching shows is a waste of time. Especially those serial drama which one episode is about 1 hr and the story is like 20-30 episode PER season. This will add up to watching the show 24 hrs per season per show.
Imagine the amount of stuff we can achieve during this period?

I believe that such drama is just an idealise interpretation on how the director views the world. Something like the games which involves fantasy. People tend to be addicted in such games as they wanted to know how it is like living in such fantasy world. Hence, instead of spending precious time to immerse yourself to view the world others conjure, why not create a world of your own in reality?

You cant achieve anything just by sitting infront of the screen receiving endless useless visual information, can you? There are just so much goodness in the world that can be done.

That is why during my army/ntu days i was never really a fan of much shows and games.

However, my believes are challanged upon attending the chinese cinema's module. Apparantly, there are things that we can learn from this expensive form of Literature. That includes understanding the culture, plight and believes. Watching films therefore became justified for me. Afterall, I need to watch the films for the exams.

Probably it was the containment of not watching shows for a long time, that made me wanted to watch more. Especially the downloading speed is very fast over here. Before i realised it, i have already immersed in shows and more shows....
Maybe it is another story for film scholars, but for me i really feel that i couldnt really learnt anything if i passively take in visual information. Perhaps a show once in a while is good, but so many shows back to back will lead to proactive interference effect that recent shows will be forgotten. WE will know the storyline but cant remember the details. It will seem as thought I had seen alot but actually didnt absorb anything at all.

And everytime I spend hours watching shows, I will feel awfully guilty.
The time i waste could be used to achieve much more like learning or doing great stuff. I know that if this goes on, i will lose the self that make me special and unique. No different from those little people who doesnt persuit their goals and dreams.

Since when do slack people shine? They just grow fat like what is happening to me now. I have to shine even brighter now, for the people on the other side of the Earth to be able to see me clearly...

freezing fall
I used to enjoy playing Hide and Seek with my brother and sister. During festive session such as Chinese new year when my cousins came, we played that as well.
I have hidden in washing machines, in/on cupboards, under the bed, drawers etc. One of the places i wanted to hide but never got the chance would be the refridgerator.
I always wonder how it feels like to be hiding inside the fridge. Yes, it will be cold but doesnt curiosity of how it feels like make you want to try. Well, if mother didnt ensure that the fridge is stocked with tonnes and tonnes of food at any one time, i might have experienced it by now.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the weather here is turning colder and colder. Kind of remind me of someone turning the temperature switch inside the fridge from cold to freezing. It was 2 degrees yesterday night causing ice crystals to form on the surface on the grass this morning.

Anyway, i read the below last night at 2am while preparing for my quiz at 830am this morning:
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), is a seasonnally recurrent depression with the typical onset during the fall or winter and remission in the spring. It is characterized by typical depressive symptoms as well as atypical symtopms such as longer sleep duration and carbohydrate craving..
That will explain why i read that last night at 2am to preparing for my quiz at 830am this Morning! not only that, explaining my longer hours of sleeping and carbohydrates craving.. yup..
See! i'm not trying to justify my actions all these while, its scientifically proven that these are signs that i'm having depression. haha..
Too bad this article didnt mention anything about reversing the effects...

Poor Mang....its the Fall session!
And just as Singapore had our exciting first ever night race, and Just as I was having my trill in the strange hotel, my housemate Mang had his own incident to account.

Actually its nothing big. Just that he fell while holding on to the bicycle whilst roller blading and fell. Not really fatal other than his nose and lips were injured and his two front teeth broke. Was sent to the hospital and dentist to get everything fix.

REally reminded me of the time i too fell while doing the same thing 6years ago. And the one who got me into that situation was none other than that disgusting cmi jiacai. I remembered vividly that during the fall, my face was about to slam onto the ground but i quickly turned to cushion the impact with my shoulder. Eventually leaving me with a scarred knee.

IT suddenly seems so easy to get your tooth knock off is it?
People i know like jd, tng, nic had their tooth knock off... humans are just so fragile..
